What is functional training?



Functional training is an exercise method that works the muscles by imitating the movements the body makes in daily life. Functional training is done with equipment such as free weights, resistance bands, balance ball or body weight instead of using machines in the gym. The aim of functional training is to increase strength, flexibility, balance and endurance by working different muscle groups of the body in a coordinated manner. Functional training is an ideal exercise both to improve the performance of athletes and to prepare for the challenges encountered in daily life.
